ウルトラマンマックス１５、まるでベトナム戦争！

　完全生命体イフ登場

　今回は、映画「妖怪大戦争(2005)」「着信アリ(2004)」の三池崇史監督が担当。
　小生が、子供の時から見てきたウルトラシリーズ中でも、最も印象的なストーリー！！
　三池組は、ウルトラシリーズにあらたな地平を切り開いた。

　最初は、マッシュルームみたいな白い物体をみて、初代ウルトラマンに出てきた「ガバドン」みたいだなぁと気楽な気分で見ていたけど・・
　「イフ」に蹂躙された焼土と化した市街地のすさまじい惨状・・・
　「イフ」の強さは、類を見ない。
　「ゼットン」も、「パンドン」も及ばない。
　「ガタノゾーア」よりも完全な生命体かも知れない。

　燃えさかる町を彷徨う少女アッコに、なにかベトナム戦争をイメージしてしまいました。

　武力に武力で対抗しても、決して物事が解決しない。
　軍事力増強を競った２０世紀と同じ。
　地球を何度も焼き尽くせるほどの核兵器を作り続けた愚かさを思い出させる強烈なメッセージ。
　そして、完全と思われた凶暴な力に対して、汚れを知らぬ少女がピッコロに想いをのせて、怪獣を女神に変えてしまった・・・・。

　ブッシュも、ビン・ラディンもウルトラマンマックスを見てみろ！！！
　かつて、ウルトラセブンでも、終わりのないマラソンに例えて軍拡競争を愚かしいものだと言っていたような記憶がかすかに蘇る。
　小生の、半世紀近い人生で、人類は少しでも賢明になったのだろうか？
　テロとの戦いを終わらせる音楽はあるのでしょうか？

　５歳の娘も「きょうのかいじゅうはこわいなぁ」「ウルトラマンのおともだちがきてくれたらいいのに」と言ってました。
　娘の目にも印象的だったのでしょう。
　そう言えば、今回のエピソードを告知する予告編も、なんともいえず印象的なものでしたね。

　ところで、ストーリーとは別ですが、
　マックスが、片膝付いてマクシュウムカノンを撃つポーズが秀逸でした。
　「イフ」の造形もよくできていました。（オモチャメーカーは、ソフビ作りにくそうだけど・・・）

　シリーズにイチャモンつければ、前回、前々回の「ゼットン」や「キング・ジョー」も「イフ」の半分ぐらいの強さが欲しかったなぁ・・・・
　復活組の中でも「ゼットン」「キング・ジョー」は弱すぎ・・・

　こんなイチャモンつけてるレベルの低い自分が嫌になるような、今回のエピソードでした。
　降参！
